One of the strongest stones in the mineral kingdom for protection, Black Tourmaline is a significant healing tool for empaths and sensitive individuals. It absorbs lots of negativity energy to consistently keep the auric field clean.  Black Tourmaline is great at etheric purification, acting as a psychic vacuum cleaner for its owner and any surrounding areas.
Black Tourmaline is a great grounding stone. You can immediately feel the weight when you pick it up, as it is a very dense crystal.  The deep, dark black color of the stone is solid all the way through, and double terminated points are great for healing and gridding the body. This is highly recommended as a first stone to work with when one is just starting to learn about crystal healing.
